Updates to Adidas Response Boost 2
- Adidas makes several changes in the 2nd iteration of the Response Boost. The very structured bands that formed something of a rib cage in the previous version are now softer while the overlays working in tandem with these bands have been removed. It is a modification that makes the upper slightly more flexible and adapts better to the runner’s foot.
- There is more mesh throughout the running shoe, especially in the midfoot and heel of this new version. Adidas also made the tongue heavily-perforated as opposed to having none in the original model. These updates are sure to enhance the breathability of the shoe for a cool and sweat-free run every time out.
- Tasked with keeping the heel in place is a new external heel counter. The new feature cups the heel extremely well for improved support and comfort in this area.
Adidas Response Boost 2 Size and fit
Adidas patterned the fit and sizing of the Response 2.0 after the original version. It has fairly standard measurements from the heel to the forefoot with just enough room in the toe box for the toes to splay. The fit is ideal for runners with medium or narrow feet. Available widths are D and B while sizes are from 6 to 15 for the men’s and 5 to 12 for the women’s.
Adidas Response Boost 2 Outsole
The outsole configuration shows rubber treads of regular size. There is a decoupled heel to isolate shock and for a little cushioning. Adidas is using Super Blown Rubber, its own version of a sticky rubber compound, in almost all areas of the outsole for traction and durability. For flexibility and a more natural running, flex grooves are utilized in the outsole.
Adidas Response Boost 2 Midsole
A firm foam and a plastic shank in the midfoot combine for an effective overpronation feature in the Response Boost 2.0. These two features are part of the Torsion System that provides torsional stability for runners as well. The same midsole technology can also be found in the popular Adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged. A standard EVA foam is also located here for resilient and lightweight cushioning. The shoe takes a huge part of its name from the Boost technology in the midsole. Adidas uses its revolutionary TPU pellets that lock themselves together for impact absorption and then returns a huge percent of the impact for a very dynamic run.
Adidas Response Boost 2 Upper
The Techfit upper encapsulates the use of breathable mesh and lightweight support and structure as provided synthetic materials. Instead of the usual overlays, the shoe uses bands to hold the foot together. A seamless construction and a very well-padded tongue and collar deliver serious comfort on the road, even when worn sockless. Adidas includes a removable insole for a better step-in comfort and support.
