The pattern designed on the outsole is called StretchWeb this is same outsole pattern used in the popular Adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged. To provide a decent amount of grip and to prevent the runner from slipping, the tread pattern made use of circular lugs of varying sizes. These lugs grip unto surfaces to help propel the runner forward.

The midsole of the Adidas Response Limited is made with the Boost material. This Adidas patent was made with blown up Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) which was reshaped into small pellets. Doing this allows any Boost platform to have a considerable amount of energy return while maintaining the light weight of the shoe.

The upper is made up of breathable mesh material. This material allows air to enter the shoe freely, preventing hot spots and keeping the inside environment cool and dry. The mesh is also stretchy which makes it easier for the upper to move together with the runner’s movements. Some areas have been reinforced to strengthen key zones on the upper.

The Adidas’ three stripes were introduced to the sides of the upper, minimally keeping the midfoot in place. These stripes are the only overlays that can be seen in this part of the shoe.

From inside the shoe, the insole is made with the Cloudfoam technology which levels up the step-in comfort felt underfoot. The insole also acts as an extra layer of cushioning that aids in impact attenuation, making the running transition smoother.
