Updates to Asics Gel Excite 3
- In the 3rd version of the Gel Excite, Asics introduces a new mesh upper that has wider and bigger holes for maximum breathability. Asics also removed the side panels found in the previous version, so the entire running shoe is basically covered in the new and very breathable mesh. This quickly addresses prior issues of ventilation as runners can now run in a superbly well-ventilated shoe.
- The support is enhanced in this new model as an overlay that stretches from the heel to the forefoot delivers structure and lockdown security.
Asics Gel Excite 3 Size and fit
The fit of the Excite 3 is standard for a trainer. With decent room in the heel, midfoot, and forefoot, most runners can comfortably stay in the shoe during training sessions. The overlays provide an excellent midfoot hold to keep this part comfortably snug. Asics offers medium as the available width of this shoe. The sizing is of regular length for options 7 to 15 for the men’s and 4 to 11 for the women’s.
Asics Gel Excite 3 Outsole
Just like the popular AsicsGel Contend 4, the Gel Excite 3's outsole has a substantial rubber that is covered by the AHAR+ rubber in the high-impact areas. Asics supplies flex grooves, both horizontally and vertically, to give the shoe excellent flexibility despite the plump cushioning.
Asics Gel Excite 3 Midsole
In the heel is the Rearfoot Gel Cushioning System for tried and tested shock-absorbing quality. Providing the plush cushioning in this shoe and itsrecent version, the Gel Excite 4 is a large piece of EVA that covers the entire midsole. Like most full-length midsole foams, the placement of this EVA adds to the smooth and quick transition from the heel to the forefoot.
Asics Gel Excite 3 Upper
The new open mesh blankets almost the entire outsole. A really breathable ride is in the offing with the introduction of this mesh upper. There are several synthetic overlays that secure the foot from the heel to the forefoot. The step-in comfort starts with the soft fabric lining and the substantially-padded collar and tongue. A removable insole adds to the cushioning and wraparound fit.
